Sottobisio / Full Measure Rye'on

Brewed by Birrificio Sottobisio
Balerna, Switzerland
6% Premium Bitter/ESB | 9 Ratings | 50 IBU |
A modern twist on the venerable ’special bitter’ style - a real ale made for the few handpumps of Switzerland and specially adapted with low carbonation for bottles. Brewed in Ticino together with Full Measure Brewing (Bern), using rye for a spicy, grainy touch, and a big, extended whirlpool of our favourite English hops: Pioneer and East Kent Goldings. Rye’On pours with an orange-copper hue and a rich creamy head from the Rye malt. The hops and malts work together to give notes of orange marmalade, gentle citrus fruits and bread crust. Best served from 10°C up, this beer gets more and more English as it warms up, and should age gracefully.
