Bear Republic Barrel 188: This Little Figgie

Brewed by Bear Republic Brewing Company
Healdsburg, California USA
10.1% · American Strong Ale · 2 Ratings · Special Release ·
This Little Figgie is a big, malty golden ale that has been aged in local distiller Charbay Brandy Barrels since 2014. Deep garnet brown in color, we added organic California black mission figs that contribute to this beer’s soda pop sweetness, creamy mouthfeel, brandy booziness, and huge malt and fig flavors.

We brewed this giant monster of golden ale specifically to put into barrels in December 2014. Our dear friend Marko Karakasevic from Charbay Distillery sold us these barrels, which had been used to age brandy for over 30 years!
