Dark brown-copper foggy body, fawn stable head. Aroma a bit smokey, malted candies, dark syrup and dark grass. Tastes solid dark malts, peat notes, smooth sweet hops, dark bread - leading to a bready malty finish. Smooth, nice, solid on palate. Good, could brew more of it, if guests really discovered it. From tap at the brewery. Hazy amber, healthy head. Hints of smoked malts in the nose, more potent smokiness in the mouth. Drinkable. fiulijn (21506) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 25, 2002
Hazy amber-light copper colour; beautiful head.
Nice aroma, some nice hop and some malt.
Less dry than their Helles, smoother, round feeling, good body and texture, pretty good malt, correctly hopped; some caramel.
Good palate, with some caramel as well, not particularly aromatic, but well balanced.
Brewed with mastery, but less peculiar in the malt (or hop) than other wonderful dunkles (<a href='http://www.ratebeer.com/ShowBeer.asp?Bee Dunkles, ...).
