COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Raven Special Lager is a perfect balanced lager beer that goes well with any kind of food, but particularly with spicy food or when you just want to sit down and enjoy a beer with friends. With a shot of Woodford Reserve chased with chilled Raven is a near perfect combination. The rich golden colored beer is an exceptionally smooth Southern German lager, somewhat malty but well balanced between the hops and malt. Experiencing the clean finish and pleasant lingering aftertaste of The Raven Special Lager, one can truly say that The Taste Is Poetic.

For the European market the beer is brewed under license by Anker-Brauerei, Nagold, Germany.

THOUGHTS: Might have been a little stale or slightly skunked, but a dedent Vienna was in there somewhere. TECHNICAL: Bottle. poured a slightly hazy, light copper or very light rust with a large, off-white head that mostly diminished and left good lacing. The aroma had moderate toasted and sour malt; lighter caramel; light grassy and earthy hops; hints of cooked corn and slight skunk. The initial flavor was slightly sweet; while the finish was lightly sweet and slightly bitter. There was toasted malt, honey, slight skunk, grassy hops, sour malt, earthy hops, light nuttiness, caramel, and a hint of lemon. The light to medium body was watery with soft carbonation and a metallic finish.

Raven Special Lager: It tastes like drinking Hi-C and peanut butter out of a garden hose.

Tap, ADT. Clear yellow gold, fizzy white head. Sweet cereal malt, grain, lemon, rice, mild citrus, mild hops. Fizzy carb. Clean but sweet finish.

Pours clear light amber, light off white head. Aroma is doughy, bready, barest hint of spicy hops. Taste is bready, slightly sweet, very moderate hops. A little Lighter than I tend to expect from a Vienna lager, in taste, aroma, and mouthfeel. Tasty and refreshing though.

Meh. Decent mild lager but nothing special. Light amber, slight head. Bottle must be a bit old because there's a slight funk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Beer is advertised as a Vienna but it is quite a bit crisper than a Vienna might be expected to be. Still very nice malt notes in the flavor but the yeast and hops balance the malt well. Curious as to the type of yeast. Tasty, easy drinking beer.

A solid summer beer, nice medium lager. Nothing special but not offensive either. March madness 2017.

355ml bottle. Pours a lighter amber. Aroma is a bit rubbery and lagery. Falvor is rubbery and grainy, bad stuff.

Terrible beer. Pours an amber color with a foamy white head. Thin mouthfeel. Tastes of almost nothing. Maybe some cardboard with a dash of sugar syrup. Poured it down the drain, not worth drinking. Its not so much that its offensive tasting but rather that it tastes of nothing, and "So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

Bottle from Total Wine, Gainesville. Pours golden with a tiny dusting of a white head. Smells slightly sweet, mostly grains. Flavor is also slightly sweet grains, but also metallic. There’s nothing special about this lager.

I think this stuff is pretty alright. It is a shade darker than a Pilsener, clear w/ a foamy head. It smells mildly of cereal grains and this is emphasized by a light sweetness. This is medium bodied w/ pretty vigorous carbonation and goes down about as easy as a Budweiser--which is a positive in my book. I think this stuff is sort of what Yuengling claims to be like but isn’t really.
