5 oz. taster @ R.I. Brewfest 2 February 2013. Nose is a deep roasted barley and malt. Lots of chocolate. Taste is the same but doubled. Hints of lactose sugar. Notes of coffee. Deep layers of malt and burnt barley. Carbonation is just right giving the stout a creamy texture. I returned for a second sample and complimented the brewer on a fine job. Currently only available on draft.
Draft at Doherty's ale house. Pours black with a khaki head. Some lacing in th glass. Solid ground coffee notes on the nose. Some coffee on the tongue but it doesn't play well with the over roasted malt which both overshadow the lactose.

Picked up a growler of this while visiting the brewery. Pours black with a caramel colored head. Aroma is of roasted coffee, malts, barley, molasses, and a roasty/toastiness. Lighter, carbonated palate. Flavor is of malts, coffee, espresso, chocolate, and olives. Leaves a coffee malt finish. Honestly this isnít all that great but itís always nice to help out the little guys. BeerandBlues2 (13199) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 25, 2014
Tap at the brewery. Pours opaque black with a medium, frothy brown head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is sour milk, dates and figs, chocolate and coffee malt with earthy hops. Flavor is dark malt and fruits, sour milk, chocolate, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Travlr (24272) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - OCT 21, 2014

Enjoyed this one at the Rhode Island Brewers Fest 2014 on draught in Pawtucket, RI. This was an outstanding coffee stout with tons of coffee character in both aroma and flavor. Pours to an opaque black color with a thick and creamy off white head, and a soft to moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is just wonderful. Packed with big aromas of milk chocolate, molasses, and roast. The palate is firm, with lots of good dark malt flavors paired with excellent sweet coffee flavors and light roast. This beer finishes with more of those great coffee flavors up front then ends lightly roasty and bitter. This is a GREAT coffee stout. Tastes like a Dunkin Donuts Coffee regular. This is what a coffee stout should be. You WANT to smell and taste real coffee as an ingredient, and you do so and then some with this beer. One of the better coffee stouts I have enjoyed over the years, and the best one from RI that I have ever tasted. Ravenous is an impressive little brewery. Watch out for these guys.

On tap at Summer RI Brewfest. Finally got my hands on a Ravenous beer, something Iíve been waiting to do for a long time. Toasted almond and browned sugar aroma. Comes on sweet and thick, a bit glassy. This is pretty well built, with nice sugary sweetness and relatively clean coffee flavor, but itís a little mild. Walks a strange line between being so sweet as to not be very quaffable, but also not having intense flavors in the departments it should.
