Appears to have come out of retirement as is was on cask at the Rook & Gaskill, York yesterday. It’s a clear golden beer, which was served with plenty of condition. Citrus, and possible pineapple notes came through, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Easy to drink for it’s strength downender (8687) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 5, 2013
Cask-conditioned at the Three Tuns, Bristol 29/11/2012. Amber in colour with a slight white head. Aroma of pine, tropical fruits and a touch of caramel. Flavour had solid, biscuity malts, more fruit and a dry, slightly herbal, finish. leaparsons (10608) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2012
Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Amber gold with a bubbly white foam. Aromas are apricot jam and marmalade with biscuit and toffee. Woody and green pine with floral notes. Spicy and boozy with bready yeast. Flavours are chewy toffee malts with herbal notes and bitter pine and grapefruit. Green with hints of chocolate and a resinous, dry finish. Peppery on the palate. Reminds me of White Shield. Very nice.
