Cask conditioned handpump Salmon Leicester. A black beer with a whitish head. A good roasty malts aroma. Quite veggy in the mouth. Pretty grassy and feels in the need of smoothing out. Not enough roast or depth of flavour. Strangely disappointing. leaparsons (10655) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JAN 13, 2012
Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Near black with a beige firm foam. Aromas are chocolate, figs and coffee with lactose and raisins. Earthy with raisins and some floral notes. Hints of hazelnut with trace vinegar. Flavours are rich coffee with dark cherries and vinous notes. Dark chocolate bitterness with an oily smooth palate. Quite prickly on the finish with deep roast flavours and some Xmas pudding. Very nice.
