Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A clear deep amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, bready malts, some fruit, slight twigs and subtle banana. Taste of fruit, bready malts, some caramel, twigs and subtle banana. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, fruity and bready malt bitterness in the finish. An all malt best bitter, slight fruit and a subtle banana? Maybe just me.

Cask handpull at the Dog & Bell, Deptford. As 'Raw JR Best Bitter'. Short review with Teresa. Pours a dark amber, clear and still with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is simple grains, musty, some burnt crumpet. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is smooth biscuity malts, a little thin and simple with a building astringency that isn't quite matched by the malts. OK. (5-4-4-4-12=2.9)

Cask. Aroma roasted malts and hop berry fruits. Pours dark orange amber with creamy white top. Taste medium sweet fading to light medium nutty bitter. So well balanced as to be instantly forgotten.

leaparsons (10865) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - OCT 26, 2012
Cask, The Salmon, Leicester. Dark brown with a thin foam. Aromas are nutty with weetabix and raisins. Autumn pear and leaves with hints of pine and dusty yeast. Flavours are initially sweet malts soon overcome by pine and grapefruit bitterness. Dry tea with some herbal, leafy aspects. A solid bitter.
