Cask at The Roebuck, Leek (Titanic) A clear deep amber colour with a medium off white head. Aroma of caramel, bready malts, some fruit, slight twigs and subtle banana. Taste of fruit, bready malts, some caramel, twigs and subtle banana. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dry, fruity and bready malt bitterness in the finish. An all malt best bitter, slight fruit and a subtle banana? Maybe just me. The_Osprey (9721) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 30, 2017
Cask handpull at the Dog & Bell, Deptford. As 'Raw JR Best Bitter'. Short review with Teresa. Pours a dark amber, clear and still with a bubbly off-white head. Aroma is simple grains, musty, some burnt crumpet. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is smooth biscuity malts, a little thin and simple with a building astringency that isn't quite matched by the malts. OK.
