Cask at Den Engel, Leek. Pours chestnut with an off white head. Smooth, creamy, sweet, good start, sort of dies on it’s backside bit too bitter on the finish. BlackHaddock (7346) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2015
Cask half-pint, hand pulled in The Bridge End Inn, Ruabon, Wales on 22nd Sep 2015. Amber pour, wispy head. Malty molasses and fruits in the nose and taste, semi-sweet in nature I quite enjoyed the brew. Can see others complaining about the unbalanced sweetness, but my sweet tooth took to it nicely. hirigalzkar (3158) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 20, 2015
Cask @ Akkurat. Feels a bit schizo (the opposite of clean) with its quaffable sweetness, heavy bready malty notes and the rather strange herbal bitterness in the end. jfb (6269) - GERMANY - OCT 12, 2014
(cask) slightly hazy deep amber-brown colour with no head. aroma of roasted malts and light hazelnuts, slightly oxidized, with a hint of dark fruit and powdered sugar. flavour is very sweet, heavily oxidized and grainy, with lots of cardboard and walnuts in the dry light-bitter finish. light- to medium-bodied with no carbonation. floydian1 (1464) - FNQ, Australia, - SEP 29, 2014
Bottle. Copper-brown pour with foamy uneven off-white head that sustains and laces nicely. Nose offers sweet fruity malts with notes of figs, treacle, dried dark fruits and nutty hints. Palate is creamy smooth and easy drinking with a lowish carbonation and a moderate hop bitterness to the finish. Enjoyed this one.
