Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. An attractive glossy black pour with a ring of dark tan head; aroma of roasted malts; smooth and milky with a well-roasted malt taste, no bitterness and a little lactic sweetness; then a satisfying biscuity finish with a little milky chocolate. A good old fashioned mild. anders37 (27658) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JUL 8, 2017

Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours black with a tiny head. The aroma is rich, oily, treacle, toasted malt and syrupy fruits. The taste is rich, sweet, oily, Dandelion & Burdock, plum pie, roasty, earth and a touch of ash with a drying finish. Light - medium body and decent carbonation. Has more depth of flavour than your standard mild. I quite like it.

Cask at Chippenham Beer Festival. Black with a tan head. Chocolate, plastic and earth. Could really do with losing that plastic. CharlieTwoPies (35) - United Kingdom, - DEC 31, 2014
City arms cardiff. Beautiful creamy brown/tan head atop an opaque and intensely dark brown beer. Could pass for black under dim light. Very good head retention (poured with a sparked on, which, being a mild, I was happy to tolerate for once). Quite a fresh aroma of very light grassy hops and chocolate. Smells like highly caramelised malts. A whiff of treacle perhaps. Very low hop aroma but the faintest touch of wet grass and fruity berries. Slightly sweet taste, rounded and smooth. Goes down with a soft chocolate impression which fades into a finish that is short lived but the right combination of clean and cloying in the right amounts. Very pleasantly surprised with this beer. Very drinkable. Suffers from bein a little thin and being a little too heavy on winey esters (not that they’re exactly prominent, though). Good job from a brewery whose other beers I would certainly not qualify as a big fan of
