Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
In the old brewery we had a problem with slugs getting into the brewery. As the beer leaves a trail down the glass as you drink it like a slug, that's how the beer was named. A delicious traditional porter with a full bodied taste of chocolate, coffee, blackcurrant and black cherry with a good aroma. A near black colour with a good white head when served through a tight sparkler.
Pale malt, crystal malt, black malt; Fuggles and Goldings hops.

50cl bottle. Dark brown color with a large tan head. Roasted malt in the aroma with notes of chocolate and some berries. Quite smooth, light to medium body. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, berries and a hint of coffee. Dry and slightly bitter aftertaste.

root-beer brown with 1.5-inch tan head, frothy and resilient. Aroma is dark chocolate and burnt paper, a touch of barley flour. Body is medium-light, somewhat oily and starchy, with medium-fine, semi-hot carbonation that emerges with a slight burn. Flavor is pond water, burnt wood chips, a touch of bbq sauce, brush. Delicious exhale. Overall, a bit more toasty than a typical English porter, but a bit was in body and flavor.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2016 Pours a dark brown black colour with a red tint and a foamy beige head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, and a little fruit. Roast malt, chocolate and coffee flavours, again some dark fruit and a dryish bitterness. Creamy in the mouth and a very moreish.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2016 Mahogany. Ash and coffee chocolate tones. Malty. Quite dry and fair bite on the palate. I love these darker porters. Not too sweet. Good one. Will try again. Fair strength. Nice aftertaste. Dark roasted malts in nose. Complex and satisfying.

Cask HP at Hamilton Hall London as RCH Old Slug Porter. Black, opaque, foamy tan head leaves thick lacing. Aroma is earthy cocoa, light dates, some ash. Body is quite light, tingly carbonation. Taste is plasticky, dry, resinous hops, molasses, light plum, touch of ash. Blueprint for a porter. Nice and dry without becoming overly astringent.

Draught in Gloucestershire. Usual porter colour with quite a roasty aroma. Not over-sweet but a little on the thin side. OK.

500 ml bottle. Translucent brown color topped by a small creamy beige head. Roasted malt nose hints at dark toffee. Upfront, flavor is more roasted malt with notes of wood and black coffee. Smooth and mildly carbonated. Somewhat dry and bitter, with nutty, dark fruit in finish. Very complex and enjoyable. A delicious British Porter that does more with less.

Cocoa and earthy coffee nose, moderate strength. Maroon brown, clear. barely any head. Charred oak, generally dry but with a mildy sweeter finish. Remarkably light body, and soft carbonation. Drinks like a schwarzbier, very lagery in body and flavor.

0.5 l bottle from local supermarket. Black colour with almost white head. Smells dark chocolate. Taste is somewhat oily, with dark roasted malts. Quite nice but not extraordinary.
