50cl bottle from Tesco’s, Wokingham. Bottle-conditioned, so a slightly hazy chestnut pour with a billowing, creamy head; rich, complex malty aroma, with some floral notes; buttery, caramel malt taste, with some berry fruit; and an elegant spritzy finish. A well-made, farmhouse-style bitter. dogbomb (1244) - ENGLAND - FEB 15, 2014
Cask at White Cross Beer festival 2014. Copper ale with a massssssive white head. Nose is floral, lemony hops. Light and breezy in the mouth imparting some lemon, tasty light biscuits, touch of toffee. Sweet, bitter, balanced. Gary (2054) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 26, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 5, 2014 Bottled: This unassuming golden orange beer kicked every-other beerz ass this X-Mas: Smell this beer , because it has the nicest grassy hop aroma ive smelt in fucken ages !!! , woody , musty and rich like an isolated log-wood cabin from a horror-movie . .I wasn’t expecting much from this because as everyone tells me , Im judgemental and narrow !This is twisting my palate .. ;floral chewy hops , caramel . notes of cricket wicket like grass resemblance .resin. I like the mustiness. . Maybe I got a bombastic bottle ? I don’t care , A damn nice ale ! Vermeerbrewery (2) - NETHERLANDS - AUG 27, 2013 does not count
Bitter and dry but very malty flavour. Not so much a floral aroma, in fact tastes like most if not all of its complexity must originate from the choice of grains and fermentables, not a variety of hops. Takes a while to unfold in its full complexity. Due to the high bitterness it takes some effort to get through all if the layers.
