Rated based on notes taken 22 Sep 2012 -- I’m a sucker for Doppelbocks. This one was pretty good. I like, I want more. mansquito (6425) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JAN 9, 2014
Hay Merchant, Houston tap: Pours amber with a beige head. Aroma is dark fruit, sugar, and dessert. Taste is pretty sweet. You get plenty of fruity notes in there as well. However, I do not find this to be that well-crafted of a doppelbock. onceblind (9629) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 2, 2014
Dark auburn amber with a foamy off-beige head. Nose has a lot of toast and sweet doughy toffee grains. The taste is nice and full but still a bit boring, bringing just boozy yeast esters and doughy bread grains. Light toast as well. Almost a hint of cherry throughout, but mostly strong booze esters and toasted bread. ben4321 (6502) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUL 23, 2013

Aroma: The nose of this one is malty and light, fairly sweet
Appearance: Clear reddish colored pour with basically no head or lace to it
Flavor: It has a pretty sweetish flavor as well, similar to the nose
Palate: The body is medium, with some medium boozy burn
I thought that this one was an alright doppelbock, but I did find it a but unbalancingly sweet.
Aroma is sweet forward. Pours a clear amber with a rapidly disappearing off-white head. The taste sweet malts with a nice bitter finish. Overall, a very enjoyable. Would drink again.

GABF, 2012, Friday Evening. Listed in the program as "Hexa Decimator." A good palate to this classic doppelbock. Sweet with caramel and malt as well as some tannin quality. Fairly thick. Fully flavored and a sweet finish. SudsMcDuff (8428) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - NOV 23, 2012
dark tan .. foam is acceptable .. . great palate and flavour- probably the best american doppel ever made .. . . i mean i’m not a fan of doppels for the most part, it takes something amazing for me to even like them- but this was like the spice channel when i was 12... djd07 (14471) - Houston, Texas, USA - NOV 19, 2012
On tap at Realtail 2012. Pours a cloudy copper with a medium creamy off white head that lasts awhile. The aroma is a roasted malt and caramel. Thin mouthfeel with a light vanilla malt and oak with nice smooth finish. Easy to drink, really enjoyed this doppelbock from Real Ale. Crispy34 (496) - Texas, USA - SEP 23, 2012
The aroma is sweet and boozy. The appearance is dark and murky. The taste is dark but the finish is a little off cause of the high amount of alcohol. This brew finishes sweet. The palate is different than most other beers. Overall, this is an interesting beer, so go ahead and try it. Dixonian (1562) - Plano, Texas, USA - SEP 16, 2012
On tap @ Jack Mac’s
Ruddy amber brew with some off-white head. Aromas of caramel, dark fruit, and grains. Lots of dark fruit in the flavor and a bit of clove.
