Bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, pine, grapefruit and light orange zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, grapefruit, orange zest, pine and light earthiness with a smooth moderatly bitter lingering citrus finish.

(12oz bottle, BB 12.11.13) Pours a lightly hazy amber-orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of caramel, fruitiness, herbal, and toffee. Flavor of citrus, light pine, earth, caramel, and grass.

Clear gold pour, light cream colored head. Sweet caramel malt up front, mandarin orange syrup, toasted malt. Just ok.

12 ounce bottle form Whole Foods Austin. Big hoppy presence. Caramel throughout. The Cascade comes through on this one.

Bottle:   Dark caramel, a little muddy, thin frothy sandy head, little lacing.   Nice citrusy nose, heavy rind and citrus peel.   Similar tongue, faint warming.   Also fairly good caramel malt.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Seems like a mini American Barley Wine.   Nice balance, not too strong with the bitterness, malts counteract what is there.   Fairly simple, but fairly enjoyable.   Lingering citrus peel, pith, and rind, along with semi-sweet caramel malts.   Good!   Thanks for the bottle Bill!

bottled, thanks to bu11zeye, amber colored pour with nice aroma of pine and caramel, flavor is hoppy pine and sweet caramel notes but finish is a little rough around the edges

(12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) clear rich copper, soapy tan bubbles. Nose of honey, chlorine, pine, cream, herbal. Taste is light alcohol, bit astringent, grapefruit, citrus zest oil, interesting beer but not the easiest drinker.

Hazy red color with a white head. The aroma is full of resinous pine with some grass mixed in. The flavor has some nice bitter pine and resin notes, as well as some citrus. There is a hint of malt, but the bitterness is fairly high for the style. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Got in a trade with Cyde. 12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 12/11/2013. Pours hazy and cloudy dark ruby red color with a 1 finger dense cream colored head with good retention, that reduces to a thin lace that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, toast, brown sugar, brown bread, floral, grass, light pine, and toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with great balance and good complexity of dark malt and hop notes, with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, orange zest, caramel, toast, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, floral, grass, light pine, and toasted earthiness. Slight pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of citrus, caramel, toast, brown sugar, toffee, brown bread, floral, light pine, and toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of hop and dark malt flavors; with a near perfect malt/hop balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a creamy and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice imperial red ale! All around nice balance balance and complexity of malt and hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on. A very enjoyable offering.
