THE BLACK QUAD: an homage to Belgian brewing tradition, with a slight departure. Characteristic of the style are notes of caramel, candi sugar, and dark fruit. Our addition of premium Belgian Black Malt adds a subtle component of dry roastiness for a deliciously dark complexity. 22°

Black brew with very little head. Has sweet fruitish smell with some alcohol. Taste is simular but with a very sweet chocolate maltiness to it and some hints of a banana flavor. The slight alcohol burn really goes well with this cold day. Hope the store has more because I want to save some for January when it gets really cold.

Wow- amazing smell, like pancake syrup and toast jelly and molasses. Has a bite but so smooth. Shared a couple of bottles and felt good afterwards.

Aroma of dark fruits, some booze, sweet malts, and slight roast. Flavors match up pretty well but not as sweet as one might think. A little hot and boozey with fruity notes. Not bad.

Pleasing aroma of grain and fruits. Strong first taste of cherry, then red fruits. Lingering sweetness. Good, accurate quad.

12 oz. bottle served in tumbler- poured an almost transparent black color with some tan whisps for a head. Light medium carbonation, aroma of bootleg hooch that my grandfather, pops, and myself make (but with less potency, and easier on the wallet than this), vanilla, and some dark fruit- but that last one is real down there- it’s easy not to spot with all the booze. Hits the mouth with a light medium body, malt is lost with booze everywhere, fruit comes and goes away in a hurried rush, finish is hot. Quad for a yuppie beer bitch perhaps. Yet another BETA TEST BEER that I had to drop about ten bucks for a 4 pack for, yippy!!! At least this beer reminds me of a conversation I had with a co-worker- they were telling me about some place downtown that had the greatest burger ever made, but you had to sit at the bar to get it, not at a table. Even if you were ten feet away from the bar. I told him I would whip out my cock, pronounce this place not worthy of it, leave, and let the legend grow. He had no words for that. Been happening alot lately...

Served draft in a pint glass at The Cove in San Antonio, Texas. Pours with a moderate tan head which recedes to a thin ring. Rich, brown color verging on purple against a white background. Aroma is of dark fruits, nuts and slight vanilla. Taste is complex with elements of cherry, cola nut, and roasted malt. Mouthfeel, while not unpleasant, is not consistent with style and lingers only faintly. Overall, a very respectable beer and unmatched in Texas.

Bottle from South Lamar. Dark, clear pour with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate and plums. Taste is baking spice, tons of dark fruit, a little carbonation, and a boozy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle: Appearance is pitch black with minimal brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt and spices. Taste is fairly close to an authentic quad, but has an awkward off flavor.

Dark mahogany pour with a thin tan head. Nice aroma of raisins, spice, wood, vanilla, and caramel. Taste is very sweet caramel, raisins, a little spice, and doughy. Alcohol warms on the way down but is pretty well concealed. Full body. Pretty good.
