Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of milk chocolate and lighter notes of roasted malt and a bit of coffee. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, coffee, and milk chocolate, leading to a dry and very roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe and byaeger for this. joergen (28108) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 1, 2009

Mahogany color; small creamy head. Dry aroma of coffee, dusty. Harsh and astringent coffee flavor (bad coffee; guys, did you ever hear of espresso???), with some sourness from the roasted malt, and light liquorice. Rough. Oakes (17668) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 24, 2011
Dark brown. Roasty with light coffee notes. Light, chocolatey, fudgey taste. Very sweet, silky with only a light coffee character. Balanced, tasty. jtclockwork (16581) - , New Jersey, USA - APR 29, 2010
Darkish brown pour with tan head. Strong coffee notes. Coffee, caramel and roasted malts in the taste. Rated 10/18/09 bhensonb (15191) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 17, 2009
Another bottle from ericandersnavy. And grateful I am. Pours really dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Aromas of coffee and dark roast malt. Medium plus body with frothy carbonation. Flavor is coffee/espresso with some definite vanilla. Somehow it’s bitter without seeming much so. ? I feel that, but it’s hard to explain. Seems to go a bit thin as the carbonation leaves. But all the flavor elements are continuing to the end. Ends more dry than sweet.
