On tap at Real Ale brewery; Aroma: fruity and hoppy; Appearance: pale straw; Taste: smooth, sweet, a little maltier than a typical IPA; Palate: light bodied; Overall: better than expected, and a little different than most IPAs; would buy again.

6’er from HEB Pearland. Straight from the bottle. Aroma of hop citrus and syrup. Tastes come on strong with a number of hop varietals intertwining then mid note brings in a malt-hop aromatic balance then dissapates with a bittersweet mouthfeel. This is my go to, just busted my ass all day and I need an ale, ale.

Bottle in San Antonio. Nose tropical fruit and light citrus hop. Taste reasonable bitter bite up front then mango, orange, lemon, moderate sweet malt late. Very light bitter finish.

Bottle. Thanks, Nate. Citrusy, floral nose, with some overripe dates. Thin pale straw color. Hefty citrus initial, tropical fruit in mid, decent medium-strength bitter tracks in finish. Thin--medium body. Tasty and quite fruity. Good IPA.

Rated based on notes taken 14 July 2012 -- I really rated this beer high, I think by the time I drank it I was pretty hammered though, so not sure how accurate it is. Oh well, guess I’ll have to try it again sometime.

bottle. Golden-orange, cloudy, with lace. Nice stone fruit nose, oranges, biscuits. FLavor of nectarine and orange, sweet biscuity malt. Good. Rye was better.

12 oz. bottle poured into a pint glass. Clear deep gold body that pours with almost no head. The head is just a bit of lace. After a few minutes, the surface is barren. Smells very hoppy. Not shy on the grapefruit hops. Totally dominates he smell. Behind it is some piney hops and some toasted malt aroma. Taste is hop-forward, which is good. The hop isn’t quite as pronounced as the aroma. Behind the hops is some spicy, almost rye-like malt. Very dry and toasty tasting malts. Not a lot of carbonation, which emphasizes the dry taste from the malts. It leaves an empty bitterness behind. It also makes it feel pretty light in body. Decent beer. Smelled pretty nice, but didn’t deliver in flavor as much.

This I.P.A. has a medium body with a good head. It has a good malt flavor, with some character, and it is highly hopped. Overall, a good beer on a hot day.
