This IPA pours a nice deep golden color with a nice head and lacing. Nose is of a dry herbal hop. Taste is slight citrus, herbal with a nice malt backbone. Nice!!! tkellymd (2) - Texas, USA - NOV 19, 2011 does not count
Excellent IPA. I highly recommend it. Very aromatic, hoppy head. Mildly bitter. Medium body. Nice finish. hiikeeba (9) - Fredericskburg, Texas, USA - MAY 2, 2012 does not count
I was happy to see this become a year round offering from Real Ale. It's a good IPA, crystal clear with good carbonation.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2005 Tap Gingerman Houston,tx: Pours hazy with avg head. Great balance with malts and hops, hops however rule in this brew. Not overly sweet like most IPA these days. Has a little more pop I guess thats the Winter in the IPA. Finish crisp and clean with slight bitter aftertase. Do try its great!! TexasAggie12 (64) - Burnet, Texas, USA - APR 20, 2006
Nice deep copper color. Has a earthy, malty hops aroma. Pours a nice thick white head. Has a malty hops flavor, that finishes strong. My favorite ipa here in Texas.

Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Smells of citrus, hints of toffee. Taste is bitter, subtle sweet malts. Medium-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Real Ale Lost Gold IPA finishes with a smooth, silky sweetness that moves to a soft bitterness. Comes out of the tap a hazy, barely translucent golden with a thick, fine-bubbled ivory head. Strong aroma is seriously hoppy, very evergreen, with an underpinning of grapefruit. Richly hoppy flavor is quite resiny, a little bitter, with notes of grapefruit and Mandarin orange in attendance. Firm texture leaves a good, persistent fizz. Discover this treasure! mmmbeer (1418) - Austin, Texas, USA - AUG 14, 2008
(Draft at Alamo Drafthouse-Lake Creek) Served in shaker- very nice one finger white head with HEAVY lacing with each sip, turbid tan/copper in appearance. Aroma of hops, citrus, and a note of grapefruit. Hits the mouth with a high-medium body, malt is extremely pleasant and enjoyable, hops come in the middle with notes of sweetness in the background as they took me away to a magical place- very well balanced overall and hard not to have the whole drink in less than 5 minutes. The big question- is this better than... Two Hearted? My opinion- you’d better keep one eye open late at night Larry and pray Real Ale doesn’t make this on a regular basis!!! UPDATED: AUG 10, 2007 On draft at the Gingerman. Poured a medium to dark golden pour, with a quickly fading head and nice lacing. Smell is outstanding, and permeates as I’m carrying the pint back to my seat from the bar. A big whif of intense hops, along with hints of pine and cedary goodness. Taste is very nice, with a good sweet malt background that gives way to a piney, sappy, hoppiness. Nice bitterness up front, but finishes pretty smooth with a lighter nice bitterness and some luscious grapefruit-iness in the mix too. Overall an awesome IPA, and I wish they’d bottle this stuff!
