Tap at common table. Black with no head. Nose is vanilla, alcohol, bourbon, chewy, molasses, and sticky. Great on the palate, chewy bourbon, sticky, and an excellent finish. djd07 (15107) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUN 15, 2012
On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a very dark brown with medium creamy tan head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is roast and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a rich vanilla malt and smooth finish. Hides alcohol well maling it easy to drink. Really enjoyed this one. An impressive BA XV.

I enjoyed the original and this upped the ante. Roasted, bourbon and caramel notes in the aroma. Black as night with a small tan head. Oily palate as most of these are coating the mouth. Bourbon and wood are predominant and upfront flavors. The roasted malts are a little lost but remain in the background. Sweet caramel and vanilla comes out as does the alcohol. A nice finisher. On tap @ The Common Table and growler from Whole Foods.
Pitch black pour. The one at TCT had absolutely no head while the growler had plenty of thick tan head. Nose is big time bourbon and oak with vanilla and some chocolate. Wow! Flavor has tons of bourbon and wood with some roast and graham cracker pie crust. Greatness. blutt59 (6565) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 14, 2012

(Growler, courtesy of Dixonian) Pours an opaque black body with a small brown head. Aroma of wood, vanilla, coconut, caramel, chocolate, and bourbon. Flavor of wood, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, toffee, and bourbon. dfinney23 (3366) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Much better than the regular XV, IMO. Replaces all the extreme bitterness with delicious bourbon and oak notes.
