THE BLACK QUAD: an homage to Belgian brewing tradition, with a slight departure. Characteristic of the style are notes of caramel, candi sugar, and dark fruit. Our addition of premium Belgian Black Malt adds a subtle component of dry roastiness for a deliciously dark complexity. 22°

Pours dark mahogany with a tiny light tan head. Smells of dark fruits and hints of dark roast. Taste is dark fruits with hints of roast and bread and a tiny hint of booze. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Real Ale Brewer’s Cut Black Quad finishes with a vinous tingle.

Enjoying with @beerapostle, really nice idea, I would enjoy getting to explore it more. There are a lot of really great quads so its hard to give this one as much credit as it may deserve. Definitely worth a try.

12 oz. Bottle. A funky odd brew that I liked more and more as I drank it. Slight roasty scent, dark fruit and caramel. Black pour with a small head to ring. Oily feel, silky, with a medium body. Brett funk fronted flavor, quad-like to dark fruit and caramel ending with a touch of roasty porter-like flavor. Very cool.

Thanks to the kind soul who shared this at a recent Tampa tasting. Pours a brown amber with red highlights and a tan head. Nose is candy sugar, sweet grapes, sweet malt, and light pepper. Flavor follows the nose nicely. Mild booziness and lingering sweetness into the finish. Interesting beer.

Bottle thanks to angrypirate06 (best before 10.08.13). Pours with a deep brown hued body, not quite black, with a tan head that has medium retention. Aromas are quite boozy, dates, dark fruit, lightly spicy, roasty, figs, chocolate, dry and estery. Flavors are kind of sweet, a bit of wet dog, boozy, sticky marmalade, very warming, fruity esters, dried fruits, dates, ripe plums, estery. Very warming, dry finish with lively carbonation.
