Bottle to glass - classic murky copper color with a fine bubbled white head. Aroma is somewhat subdued... Earthy malt, tobacco, traces of spearmint. Pretty mellow on the tongue... Crisp bite initially but it carries on softly as it rolls down. Some sweet caramel, toasted corn, tobacco, gourd. Decent. Scrapersnbeer (1532) - Boston, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 17, 2015
Musty and nutty malt aroma. Bubbly amber, seems overcarbonated. Dirty cocoa malt flavor, richer than the style is usually. Medium body, appropriate softness despite the look. Probably won’t fly in Munich, enjoyable nontheless. DrunkSanta410 (967) - Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA - AUG 26, 2015
Bottle at home. Clear copper pour, white head with poor retention. Aroma is caramel, rasins, faint toast, faint grain. Taste is caramel, toasted malts, a bit of rasin, light honey. Faint grain and grass. Medium body, high carbonation. Nice and balanced. Pretty good. ZacM612 (748) - San Antonio, Texas, USA - SEP 8, 2014
Copper/amber color with minimal off white head. Malt and yeast aroma. Malty flavor with a little caramel. Smooth, medium body, drinkable. Cackman (2) - - SEP 7, 2014 does not count
Strong dark chocolate taste aroma. Taste is smooth with sweet aftertaste. One of my favorite Oktoberfest brews.

Aroma is strongly malty. Pours a goldish brown with just a bit of head from tap into a pint glass. Mouthfeel is medium/thick with a bit of carbonation bite. Beer is very malty and sweet with just a bit of a spice bite. Some caramel and oaty tastes in there as well. TXBadger (2811) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUN 19, 2014
Pours a very nice coppery color with white head. Caramel malts, some light hops, and some roasty character on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with more malt. Really great example of the style. Headbanger (4012) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2014
12oz bottle 12/9/10 (Whole Foods-Lamar)-Pours a hazy amber with a decent off white head. Aroma of malt and corn. Taste of malt, caramel, and sweetness. This medium bodied brew is not my favorite style but this one was rather tasty. harrymel (1551) - Spokane, Washington, USA - DEC 20, 2013

A: pours a orange hued brown ale with near excellent clarity and a transient light beige head. A speckled mirror sheen remains outlined by foam. No lace.
S: smells like grain and some alcohol surprisingly. A hint of floral tones.
T: sweet, nutty, oxidized. Not too impressive. Should have some sweetness here.
M: medium bodied with light carb.
O: not privy to this one. I like marzen, but this was over oxidized.
Serving type: bottle

Good piney aroma. Golden copper color with a white head. Crisp and clean palate. Not too heavy. Flavors were hoppy with a strong bitterness that lasted. Decent malt backbone but not much sweetness. Easy to drink and surprisingly good. Goes well with food.
