Mysterium Verum. Scots Gone Wild marks the initial offering from Real Ale Brewing Company in the world of sour beers. Real Heavy, our strong scotch ale, was aged for 6 months in American oak barrels, during which time it underwent a dramatic refermentation due to the presence of a very special cocktail of wild yeast and bacteria. The end result is a dry, cherry-pie sour, with a subtle oak character and a bold tartness. OG: 20˚P

(Draught) Pours an amber-brown body with a spare white head. Aroma of horse blanket, vinous, wet weathered leather, and oak. Flavor of vinous, sour cherry, oak, raisins, and caramel with a dry finish.. Nicely malty for a sour, which is not something I would ever expect to say for a sour.

Draught at the Easy Tiger, Austin, TX. Dark red brown colour with a tiny light pink head. Sourness, mild tartness, some sweet maltiness and red berries in the aroma. Promising. The flavour is sour.
