COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Mysterium Verum. Scots Gone Wild marks the initial offering from Real Ale Brewing Company in the world of sour beers. Real Heavy, our strong scotch ale, was aged for 6 months in American oak barrels, during which time it underwent a dramatic refermentation due to the presence of a very special cocktail of wild yeast and bacteria. The end result is a dry, cherry-pie sour, with a subtle oak character and a bold tartness.

Please, Scot, can I have some more? Prunes, cherries, raisin, bit of leather, but nothing offensive. Nice acidic bite that cuts throught the fruity sweetness. One of the best beers Ive had at FT.

On tap at RealTail 2012. Pours a cloudy brown with a small frothy off white head that quickly diminishes to nothing. The aroma is oak, cherry, funk, and peat. Thin mouthfeel with a light tartness, vinegar, oak and nice sour finish. Wow really enjoyed this one. A very impressive sour from Real Ale.

Dark amber, frothy beige head. Aroma of cherry, toffee. I love how the sour leads to the caramel burst towards the end, some whiskey and wood, very big, very good.

Growler pour. Light beige head. Dark brown body with reddish tint. Strong bourbon and hints of cherry aroma. Initial taste carbonation and sour cherries. Finishes with a vanilla bourbon whisky and toffee flavor. Great winter time beer with a unique flavor.
