Pours mid-golden, mostly dead with some dusty particulate hanging about, under a large yet fast-fading white head. Aroma of old pale malt and some stale caramel malt with a hint of metallica. Flavor finds adjuncty DMS notes to sweet pale malt with a hint of grassy bitterness. Tastes overshelved because it is (BBE 11/05)... but you have to hold that against the retailer, not the consumer.Saarlander (1686) - Saarlouis, GERMANY - NOV 22, 2005
I remember hearing that in hot weather you can quench your thirst by sucking on a smooth stone. You may be better off sucking on that "real rock" instead of this one.

A bit of a heavyer taste to this one than Red Stripe, all around better flavor, abit of hops too. Not a bad beer by anymeans, but nothing great. Average. raymow (1668) - Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 9, 2003
I just had a couple of bottles of this in Jamaica and found it fairly similar to Red Stripe. It was very refreshing in the heat and I'd definitelt drink it again. However, if given the choice between this and Red Stripe, I'd probably go with the Red Stripe. Of course, if you can guarantee to send me to Jamaica - I'd gladly drink either one. igneous1 (1535) - Davenport, Iowa, USA - DEC 13, 2006
had several bottles in the mini bar in our room. The predominant flavor to me was the cardboardiness...wet paper was abundant. Other than that, not memorable, light-bodied. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - FEB 27, 2005
slight, grainy aroma. nice head and cloudy, golden color. the taste and bite is similar to a budweiser, and as such, no great shakes. slight bitter aftertaste. nice fizzy palate. i generally like this beer, but am not overly-enthusiastic. i can, and have, drunk more than one at a sitting....

not much going on here. little in the way of hops, malt or yeast. a very pale straw color with a short lived head and almost no lace. after finishing this one, it just leaves me wanting more beer, but not this one! kimcgolf (872) - Dacula, Georgia, USA - JUL 14, 2006
Poured an orange-tinted gold, with medium head that lingered and gave way to good lacing. Aroma was slightly hopped, with some fruit, but hard to distinguish waht. Flavor was mild and uneventful, almost like a BMC macro. Finish somewhat flat and sour. Not much to this beer. gururyan (727) - Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA - SEP 10, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2012 When in Jamaica, I find Real Rock a much better pick over the overdone Red Stripe. When in Rome... Wiseblood (700) - Clarksville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 12, 2004
Dark gold with aromas of corn and hops. Looked promsing, but turned out to be nothing more than another characterless lager. Good and easy to drink in the heat. Fairly light and crisp with no aftertaste. BlackBeerPG (679) - Darien, Illinois, USA - NOV 5, 2015
Taste of fruity hops with some bitter bite, lite aftertaste, Amber gold in color, clear in quality, Med/lite body
