can’t really taste the honey, but it seems to lend itself to the exceptionally smooth body of this beer. other than that, it’s a good-but-not-great stout. recommended." dalekliz (924) - New Jersey, USA - NOV 8, 2012
Bottle. Pours a deep black with a huge tan head. Aroma of toasted malt, chocolate, coffee, brown sugar. Rich taste, of sweet and bitter chocolate, coffee, malt, caramel. Lingering sweet chocolate and malt. Nice. daknole (11050) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - APR 25, 2012
Very dark brown pour, a light brownish head. Roasted aroma, some light peaty notes, molasses, raisins. Flavor is light smoke, roast, light epsresso, and a bit of a metallic note. wedgie9 (2702) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 29, 2011
Tasted on 12/29/11 from a 22oz bomber bottle purchased at Binny’s Lincoln Park. Pours a completely opaque, nearly black, dark brown with a thin tan head that recedes to nothing more than a thin collar of lace. The nose is milk chocolate, smoked malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and a sour, lactic aroma. The flavor is more sour than anything else, with lemon juice, with all of the classic chocolate and coffee stout notes underlying, and some light dust and smokiness. The body is pretty thin, and somewhat watery, with lively, fizzy carbonation, and a long sour lemon, dark chocolate, coffee, dusty, and smokey finish. Normally I wouldn’t rate a beer that is this obviously infected, but I have had this beer several times over the past few years from what I assume to be different batches (there is no batch info anywhere on the bottle), but it has been soured every time, not to mention, it is still pretty enjoyable.

Dark black color with light brown suede head. Getting an overwhelming sour feel with aroma/taste. Very toasty malt, dark chocolate coffee aroma, but sour still there. Taste of bitter chocolate, overtoasted malts and unsweetened chocolate. Sour throughout. Bitter dry finish. Not bad, just didn’t like the sourness. blipp (9590) - La Mesa, California, USA - MAR 2, 2011
Bottle. Pours near black with a beige head. Roasty and sweet malty aroma with notes of honey and chocolate. The flavor has a nice balance of bitter roasted malts and sweet chocolatey notes, has some light brown sugar, and ends with a smokey note. Solid. chriso (7586) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 25, 2011
Bottle, somewhere during RBSG, July 2006 (but not at the Grand Tasting - can only assume some kind soul opened and shared it at some point). Almost black with just a slight ruby tinge. Quite roasty. Some chocolate and coffee. Not the biggest strong but quite tasty and surprisingly drinkable.

(bomber, 5/4/10). Black color. Large dark tan head, which is mostly diminishing. Moderate roasted malt aroma, with light sourness. Flavor of the same, with more light sour and light chocolate. Avg duration. Light sour & bitter finish. Slick/thin texture. Soft to moderate carbonation. Spare lacing. crajun (1259) - , Texas, USA - NOV 7, 2010
Damn good stout - zero to small amount of hops at end made this smooth and easy to drink; not much aroma; black pur with dark beige head (small). Perfect roasted taste with tinge of sweetness/chocolate. Did i mention goes down smooth on back end.
Will have again.
