Sweet malt in the aroma and body with a strong bitter finish, but none of the pine or citrus I hope for in a Double. More hops and less malt please. It has a peculiar smoke flavor that is unsettling. Kind of dirty... maybe a bad keg? Sampled at Naja’s IPA fest. Oscbert (1319) - Lincoln, California, USA - APR 13, 2009
~Cloudy orange amber with quickly diminishing white head.
~Citrus grapefruit scent with hefty amount of malts. Smells almost like lipton ice tea in a good way.
~Starts super sweet and quickly turns bitter. The transition from sweet to bitter is really enjoyable.
~Medium feel. Lasting bitter finish.
~Good DIPA! Gypsy19 (726) - California, USA - APR 12, 2009
Pours orange-amber with a controllable head. Hoppy, grapefruit aroma and also some tea aroma. Flavor is bold, very hoppy with an odd sweet tea flavor before the predictable bitter finish. Palate is spritzy, nice. Overall, good to very good. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - FEB 17, 2009
Bottle. Love their hops. Pours an amber body with an off white head. A thin malt bill in comparison to the massive floral bouquet, and fruity pine and citric acids. Moderate alcohol warming well masked by the sheer hoppiness of this one. good brew. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 3, 2009
Clear dark golden w/ medium head. Clear citrus hops with just a touch of sugary sweetenss. Overall pretty smooth and very drinkable for the ABV. Can taste the alcohol, but not overwhelming. Well done. Not sure why, but I didn’t expect much from this one and was pleasantly surprised.

Clear deep golden with medium off white head. Hoppy aroma with grapefruit and pine notes. Hoppy flavour with grapefruit, pine and caramel notes. Also some toasted malt. mrhoppy (1288) - Santa Clara, California, USA - DEC 18, 2008
Beautiful billowy creamy head with excellent lace. Perfect clear dark orange color. Aroma is hoppy bitter piney lollipop a tinge of Belgium. Flavor light toast strong resinous hop syrup good body and balance not very sweet. Warming alcohol. Excellent feel and finish coating your mouth with aromas going back to your nose as you breath. Grade A IPA. hayduke (5619) - Eureka, California, USA - OCT 7, 2008
From a 22 oz bottle this poured a rich copper color with a good sized off-white head and good lacing. Nose is of citrus and pine hops with caramel malts. Creamy mouthfeel. Favor is quite bitter and is of grapefruit and the finish is long and bitter. Overall pretty good. marcus (10571) - Sacramento, California, USA - OCT 1, 2008
This copper ale poured with a thick beige head and a floral aroma. It’s very hoppy with lots of citrus and pine lending a familiar northwest hophead aura. There is also a tasty caramel malt base that leaves a thick finish on one’s palate. skoisirius (1909) - Earth, Washington, USA - SEP 24, 2008
22 oz bottle. Pours a see through golden copper with a small light tan head that diminishes quickly. Fairly resin filled piney nose. The flavor is a huge continuation of the nose, very resiny and piney with a huge malt backing. These flavors do a tremendous job of thickly coating the pallet before flushing a deep citrus bitter end through the finish. 9.1% is not too detectable, but is hinted at. Nice work over all!
