Bottle poured a hazy copper with a huge tan head. Aromas of pine, citrus, carmel, and a hint of vinous. Palate is typical IPA smooth and a little resiny. Flavors of grapefruit rind, pine, some carmel, with an appropriatelly bitter finish. Tmoney99 (14457) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 25, 2011
Bottle. Poured clear dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy complex earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. My expectations where met. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - NOV 20, 2004
Lightly hazed garnet body topped by beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit, pine, caramel. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, grapefruit, pine, floral, mild alcohol warming. Medium-full body, light sticky. Alcohol well hidden. On the milder side of Double IPAs, quite nice. Thanks DarkElf! bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - FEB 4, 2005
(Bottle) Pours a lightly cloudy amber-orange body with a medium-sized creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, grapefruit, pine, and dark fruits. Creamy, somewhat bitter palate. Nice blance of hops and malts with a hint of corriander. Dogbrick (13010) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 20, 2010
Sample at the "Beer Tasting on the Front Porch". The beer pours a hazy amber color with a medium thick and foamy off-white head that recedes steadily. Small patches of lacing. Grainy malt and fruit aroma. Medium body with flavors of earthy and grainy malt, lightly floral hops and fruit. Another beer whose character makes me question the age. The finish is toffee and more grain. Barely average overall.

courtesy of fiulijn - dark blond-orange colour with a persistent beige foam; nice lace; solidly hoppy with notes of flowers and cream; moderate carbonation and with a solid malt body; slightly sticky; very robust bitterness, long and very bitter flowery finish - a one-dimensional hop bomb hopdog (12510) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 10, 2005
Poured a dark ruby red color with an averaged sized, frothy off white head. Aromas of light oranges, pine and grapefruit. Tastes of pine, grapefruit with a trace of malts. Bitter bite. I expected little more of a sweet, malty balance for an IIPA. Body was a little on the thin and watery side as well. Alcohol content hidden. Sammy (12195) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 19, 2009
Jon’s bottle looked great with cloudy grapefuit and good white head, it smelled very nice hops, bit it was weak taste, like sat in sunshine for at least a year. Pinball (12145) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - SEP 13, 2009

"this beer is big and chewy, with a very hoppy presence (obviously) but more malty than you expect. That works more for the body than the flavor, but it’s pretty darn good anyway."
