Bottle 50 cl. Poured black coca-cola like colour with foamy tan head. Aroma is light roasted malt with hints of sweet sugar. Flavour similar, from slightly burned to sweet taste. Pretty nice roasted aftertaste, even if it feels a bit thin. ALLOVATE (3014) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - FEB 1, 2011
From the bottle, into the classic schwarzbier flute like that pictured, not quite chilled. Yields a very fine bead with a tight, compact tan head that holds and laces well. Shimmering, darkest ruby-brown is the body. Smells oddly of cured beef, fresh Biltong, anchovies and cocoa with hints of cola soda and rust coming through, at least it has character. Sweet and bitter burnt, caramelised sugars dominate in the mouth atop a bed of toasted and chocolaty malts. Twiggy bark, burnt wood and rust in back tries to soften the sweetness. Lightly bitter malt swallow holds some chocolate ice-cream notes and wood to linger long with much residual sugar. Body is medium-light but it sits quite heavy and become increasingly cloying as it warms further. Just doesn’t come together, it is way too sweet form me! Pours a beautiful slightly reddish brown colour with a big, beige frothy head. Aroma of mildly toasted malts and caramel. Flavour of toasted malts, caramel, coffee and mild hop notes. Medium bodied and a bit watery mouthfeel. Nice Dunkel.
UPDATED: OCT 12, 2010 This is my first "special" beer. Nice! Anyway, too bitter for me. Aroma is quite strong, a bit burned syrup , a bit coffee after drinking. Very nice creamy texture in the end, but the little bit slick&thick beginning is a bit too strong.

Dark brown body, almost black with a lasting light tan head. Nose is a little sweet, milk chocolate, coffee and a hint of smoke. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with just some bitterness helping out. rmasa (324) - Vantaa, FINLAND - MAY 23, 2010
Pours very dark brown with large light-brown head; aroma with slight burnt caramelish notes, but also of smokey ham and hints of dark bread and fruitiness; after the surprising aroma the flavor is more or less what you might have expected in the first place: sweet, slightly buttery caramelish, almost syrupy - that at first, but soon followed by quite strong roastedness and light to moderate bitterness; even so strong that you feel like the light body isn’t quite enough to balance it out; slightly watery texture, moderate carbonation. A bit confusing one, really. gunnar (9085) - Sandnes, NORWAY - MAY 12, 2010
Sampled at Copenhagen Beerfestival.Pours deep brown, next to black with a big nice looking tan head.Aroma of brown sugar and syrup. Taste has some weak liquorice hidden amongst the light burnt caramel.
