Bottle from supermarket. Dark brown color, beige head. Sweet, malty taste with bread, chocolate, nuts and roasted malts. A bit thin body, mostly malts. Somewhat roasty finish with nuts. Good dunkel, yet not particularly exciting. gam (4009) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 31, 2010

Dark brown of color with a foamy beige head. An aroma of toffee, malt, sweets and metallic. A flavor of toffee, metallic, sweets and a very weak Bitterness. RexTalionis (3775) - FINLAND - FEB 25, 2011
Bottle 50 cl. Poured black coca-cola like colour with foamy tan head. Aroma is light roasted malt with hints of sweet sugar. Flavour similar, from slightly burned to sweet taste. Pretty nice roasted aftertaste, even if it feels a bit thin.

Dark brown colour with a medium mostly lasting light brown head. Sweet aroma of malt and caramel. Nice beer. Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 19, 2007
Near black colored with red hints. Big beige head. Caramelly aroma with some bubblegum and mild roastiness, rather sweet one. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is more roasted with still this sweetness dominating, caramel also in start. Aftertaste turns to bittersweet with mild roasted tone. Basic Czech dunkel, still maybe too sweet for me. Crispy palate with some carbonation. dnstone (3462) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAR 19, 2012
Sweet aroma. Deep amber-brown in color with nice head. A mild lager with hints of roast in the front.

Dark brown body, almost black with a lasting light tan head. Nose is a little sweet, milk chocolate, coffee and a hint of smoke. Taste is pretty similar to the aroma with just some bitterness helping out. ALLOVATE (3049) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - FEB 1, 2011
From the bottle, into the classic schwarzbier flute like that pictured, not quite chilled. Yields a very fine bead with a tight, compact tan head that holds and laces well. Shimmering, darkest ruby-brown is the body. Smells oddly of cured beef, fresh Biltong, anchovies and cocoa with hints of cola soda and rust coming through, at least it has character. Sweet and bitter burnt, caramelised sugars dominate in the mouth atop a bed of toasted and chocolaty malts. Twiggy bark, burnt wood and rust in back tries to soften the sweetness. Lightly bitter malt swallow holds some chocolate ice-cream notes and wood to linger long with much residual sugar. Body is medium-light but it sits quite heavy and become increasingly cloying as it warms further. Just doesn’t come together, it is way too sweet form me! (50cL, BB 10/12/10, Cellarbrations Carlisle)
