Bottled. Dark brown/black colour. Medium head. Coffeish, chocolatey aroma. Also coffee and chocolate in the taste, paired with sweetness and caramel. Bitter-chocolatey finish. Mediumbodied. Good one. thenick (766) - North Bellmore, New York, USA - JUL 22, 2007
Bottle from Peculier Pub, NYC. Pours a deep reddish-brown to almost black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with slight other characteristics. Flavor is roasted malt up front dissolving into hop, chocolate, and caramel notes in the end. Not bad, but not spectacular either. Grovlam (4253) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2007
Bottle. Average beige fizzy head that mostly diminished. Clear sparkling body with a dark mahogany color. Aroma of toasted malt, butter, caramel, soft brown sugar. The sniff lives the impression of a week Malt beer. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Light to moderated sweet flavor with light bitter notes. Light sweet finish. Quit nice. raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - NOV 25, 2007
Bottle 0.5 l. Very deep red, almost opaque. Nose is roasted malts and some syrup. Flavor is nicely dry and roasted, not overly sweet. Much better than the Rebel pils, not as metallic. One of the better dunkels.

Bottle from a Danish supermarket. Sweet malt. Some rosted grain. A little bitterness, but it is too sticky sweet for me. jfb (6652) - GERMANY - AUG 24, 2009

Sampled at Copenhagen Beerfestival.Pours deep brown, next to black with a big nice looking tan head.Aroma of brown sugar and syrup. Taste has some weak liquorice hidden amongst the light burnt caramel.
Easy forgotten. rmasa (324) - Vantaa, FINLAND - MAY 23, 2010
Pours very dark brown with large light-brown head; aroma with slight burnt caramelish notes, but also of smokey ham and hints of dark bread and fruitiness; after the surprising aroma the flavor is more or less what you might have expected in the first place: sweet, slightly buttery caramelish, almost syrupy - that at first, but soon followed by quite strong roastedness and light to moderate bitterness; even so strong that you feel like the light body isn’t quite enough to balance it out; slightly watery texture, moderate carbonation. A bit confusing one, really. Meilby (11692) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2012
