a full molasses aroma - burnt pieapple and salted liquorice. thin. this style is dying in the czech republic so try it while you can Ernest (7792) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - NOV 2, 2002
Head is initially large, frothy, rocky, off-white, mostly lasting. Body is dark orange-brown. Aroma is moderately malty (caramel, toasted dark bread, nutty), lightly hoppy (herbs). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Mouthfeel is the main downer here (very watery and fairly thin). Very quaffable and clean, though, with very good flavor balance and pleasant aroma. kmeves (1098) - Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 28, 2002
Better than I expected. Nice roasted malt flavor. Color is a dark amber. Very smooth and easy drinking. austinpowers (2832) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 15, 2002
A bit light for a munich dunkel, so I think that this 'Garnet' beer is actually some other style (the label calls it a 'Czech Amber Beer'). This is fairly bitter and unremarkable (rather thin, too).

Dark amber. Neutral aroma. Dry, oily flavour, lingering bitterness. A nice dryish polotmavý (semi-dark Czechish lager).
