Fat, oily and malty. Fruity and sweet from the malt with no head on a deep mahogany pour. A little bit of citrus and exotic fruit in the hops. Very drinkable.

The big brother to IPA and Smuggler, this is a typically malty ale. Neither aroma nor finish are particularly pronounced but has a nice mouthfeel which makes it very drinkable. Wouldnt describe it as an ESB though, more an old fashioned special bitter. One for the malt fans, best avoided by the Hop Nazis.

Really lovely, full beer, balanced and without either being a bitter or a stout or mild, it slips nicely into its own groove! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pint at a wetherspoons. Very dark red with an initial creamy head, but it doesnt linger. Smooth malty beer with hops and a nice bitter light crystal malt finish. Pleasant lightly hopped aroma. Perfectly drinkable. Fruity notes.
