Cask; Seasonal - September to November. Also available filtered in bottle.
This premium ale reflects the colour and intensity of Autumn. Its deep reddish hue derives from the addition of crystal malt in the grist. The flavour is predominantly malty with a subtle late hop character.

Tall, brown 500ml bottle, best before 17th Mar 2011, drank and reviewed 26th Jan 2011. Poured into a UK pint sleeve. More dead leaf brown than red in body colour, the tanned coloured head fell away very swiftly to leave nothing apart from a thin half collar, not impressed with the look after 20 seconds of pouring! Malty smells, fruity too, we are talking about baked fruit biscuits here, without the sweetness. The taste is all malt, semi-sweet molasses and dried fruits (currents, dates and plums), not unpleasant, but not exciting. They claim to use amber, crystal and roasted malts, along with Goldings, Fuggles and Cascade Hops, sorry but they didnt blend well in this brew. Slightly over carbonated for my tastebuds, almost fizzy in fact. Made me burp! OK more than good, the lose of the head so quickly killed the tasting for me, nothing stood out as different or interesting so it never really recovered from the initial bad vibes.

Pours mahogany/copper with a tan head. Smells of sweet malt, some caramel, earthy, tea. Tastes earthy with some basic sweet caramel on the finish. Uninspired.

a dark red ale which has a creamy head and is brewed with amber, crystal and roasted malts, as well as three types of hop. The nose has distinct citrus notes, a full on spiciness and a foral freshness from the Cascade, Fuggles and East Kent Goldings respectively. I admit I allowed myself a smug moment when I read the back label and was right. As for the taste, there was plenty of toffee and rich maltiness, balanced out by a slight tartness and a dry finish. On a cold afternoon, this was a lovely pick-me-up.

Bottled. A hazy red beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of butter. The flavor is very dry with strong notes of butter, leading to a very dry finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Sweet buttery toffee malt, grassy hop gives it a bittersweet character, bit of fruity candy sugar like sweetness comes through also. What the fuck is an Irish Ale?

Bottle. Pours a dark ruby colour with a malty spice like aroma, with virtually no head. The taste is very fruity with loads a of citrus flavours. Lovely hoppy finish, very little carbonation, a very drinkable beer.
