Pours a nice clear reddish amber color. Aromas of hops, sweet malts, hops, and hops. Flavors of citrus hops, malt, and a touch of fruit. Beerman6686 (6611) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2014
This one poured a dark red to.brown with a beige head. Aroma was of caramel, toffee, dark fruit, oak, Bourbon and light vinegar. Flavor was oak and caramel, dark sour cherries and vinegar. Def a little infected, but not a complaint here. SpringsLicker (3685) - Tennessee, USA - NOV 6, 2014
Clear dark brown pour with little head of any kind. Some sediment in the bottle.
Aroma of dark caramel, alcohol, raisins, molasses.
The flavor follows the aroma. sweet complex, improving as it warms. Decent cold weather sipper. jrob21 (3878) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 19, 2014
Growler from ale yeah. Lots of red fruit and a little pepper spice. Caramel toffee and sweet candi sugars. Nice complex drink. Little bit of cocoa and molasses. Wild yeast like aroma. Some vanilla and wood working throughout. Pleasantly surprised. otakuden (1783) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 23, 2013
Pours like liquid mahogany and cherry woods with a fluffy khaki head that leaves spots of lace on the sides of my glass as it fades into a thin layer.
rosenbergh (11949) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 5, 2013
Bourbon esters with vanilla, chocolate, and fudge. Heat in the back tickles the nose. Melted caramel and vanilla with fudge ripples and candy apples bobbing up and down. Kahlua. Old woods. Hazelnut and chocolate liquor.
Cinnamon and nutmeg along the sides. Vanilla, caramel, and candied apples in the middle. Skor bars underneath for creamy chocolate and crunchy toffee. Kahlua and hazelnut liquor truffles. Warms the chest.
Red Brick is always hit or miss with me and their 17th Anniversary was a home-run for this Beer Ambassador. Delicious, decadent, and intense without being overwhelming. A fine example of an American Strong Ale and perfect for sipping on a cold winter’s eve in front of a crackling fireplace.
12 oz bottle. (Beverage World) Fort Oglethorpe, GA.suprchunk (2994) - EffOff, Florida, USA - SEP 4, 2013
Dark reddish brown colour with a small tan head.
Cherry, sherry, roasted malt, whiskey sweetness and wood dryness in the aroma. Complex. Sourness, sweet whiskey, roasted malt and bitterness in the flavour. Rich. Enjoyable.
Almost black pour. A little chunky. Small off-white head. Not much lacing. Peppery wood aroma with hints of vanilla. Taste is peppery with a nice bourbon tone. Nice vanilla presence. Some notes of sugar, dark fruit, and spice. Great beer. bytemesis (9510) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Bottle. Pours hazy reddish hazel, large creamy tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is bourbon, caramel, grains. Flavor is the same, medium sweet, lightly bitter, fair amount of woody astringency. Medium body. Meh. daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JUL 31, 2013
Reddish brown pour with a cream colored head. Loads of booze and oak in this, some brown sugar, golden raisins. The booze dominates. I think this is my 100th rating of a GA beer. biggsbowler (629) - Port St. Lucie, Florida, USA - JUL 27, 2013
Bottle - Pours a murky brown/red w/ tan head. Smell a lot of booze, burnt oak, vanilla. It taste very boozy. There is some caramel and very malty. Plus a weird aftertaste almost soapy or lemony. I cant say I care for this one.
