Pours a hazy amber color with a small khaki head. I have never smelled a beer like this before. It smells as though it’s not fermented. You know that smell when you just finished boiling the beer and transfer it to the fermenter? That’s what it smells like. Really sweet and malty. Weird. Not bad, just weird. Flavors are more along the malty side as well and are very muddled. Slightly bitter and muddled finish. Overall it’s not bad but it just feels like an unfinished product.

From Red Brick Brewing. 6.2% brewed in Oct. 2014 so 7 months old. A mild pine aroma with a thick sweet caramel malt backbone. Fairly full bodied but a bit syrupy sweet. I get the feeling this IPA is passed its best with most of the hop character having dropped out...

Bottle. Pours hazy orange with low white head. A lot of caramel malts in aroma. Some resin and tropical fruits. Medium carbonation. Medium body, nice mouthfeel. Medium bitterness.

Old rating. Not a great IPA. Amber colored. Sort of chalky. Too much caramel malts, some bitterness. Nondescript.

hayduke (5731) - Eureka, California, USA - APR 1, 2015
Share with Stykzone on Facebook Chat. Orange cloudy pour with a white head. Light lacing. Nose of pine and tropical fruit. Medium in body. Flavor is big on tropical fruit and the pine is quite present. The finish is citrus, resinous, and the with pine bitterness. Nice drinking.

12 ounce bottle from Hayduke. We had it together via facebook chat. Some haze in this golden orange beer. One finger of foam that soon almost completely disappeared. An odd aroma that is hard to describe. Fortunately it tastes much better. All kinds of tropical fruit and grapefruit is tasted. Decent bitterness. Some pine resin, too. This was a classic west coast IPA and it is a nice one. I happen to like the style a lot.

Great tasting ipa. This brew is a great hop balance. Good overall welcoming brew for the first ipa drinker as well.

gorditoabd (637) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 15, 2015
Pours a nice amber color. Smells a little caramel-y, which makes me think maybe too much crystal malt in this beer. Sweet, underhopped taste. Not that good. Drinkable, but overall :(

Bottle. Aroma of... Funky fruit? Like cooked apples and peaches maybe? Taste is decent; pine, resin, fruits, with good balance. A passable American IPA.

Trappist1 (646) - Diest, BELGIUM - MAR 7, 2015
Dry, bit bitter but definitely a sweet fruity ending. Hoppy nose, Malts, fruity with a long finish. Good IPA.
