12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted malty and light caramelish. Vanilla, roasted malty and citric sour. Smoked and light tarish. Vanilla and citric finish. Very strange, yet not offensive. Ungstrup (39313) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2012
Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin lazing off-white head. The aroma has notes of smoke, whiskey, roasted malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of vanilla, smoke, whiskey, and caramel, leading to a dry alcoholic finish. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 3, 2012
Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear orangey brown with a creamy, light brown head. Aroma has roast, subtle oak and even subtler smoke. Medium body, the lactic acidity hits you straight away revealing that this clearly suffers from a bad infection. Same notes as in the aroma are here: roast, ashes smoke and oak with a vanilla whiff, it’s just all overpowered by the sourness. Ends dryish and ashy. Shame. 030612 djd07 (16533) - Houston, Texas, USA - JAN 26, 2015
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown with beige head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is roast, smoke, and vanilla. Thin mouth with strong smoke and sourness that tastes infected, no.

Bottle. Very dark pour with a nice creamy head. Light smoke and oak on the aroma. Taste is ungodly sour - just nasty. Drain pour. hopscotch (11526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - NOV 7, 2011
Draft… This beer rocks!… Black ale with a small, fluffy, khaki head. Decent retention. The aroma is of milk chocolate and robust vanilla flanked by light hickory smoke and a touch of maple syrup. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and medium carbonation. The flavor unveils toasted nuts, chocolate and vanilla. Pleasantly sweet, milk chocolate and vanilla finish. Very agreeable. World class stuff! phaleslu (11072) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 13, 2012
12 oz. bottle from stevemastny- thanks again, Steve! Pours a dark, deep, mostly opaque coffee brown with a small tan head that leaves a lasting ring. Smokiness emerges from the aroma immediately, with notes of dark fruits, chocolate, vanilla, oak, and whiskey- pretty much what it advertises but something was just a wee bit off; maybe too much fruit? Is infection starting to set in? The flavor confirms that yes, something is off. There is a ton of tart fruit in complete opposition to a really nice woody, smoky note; some cocoa and bacon. So unfortunate. It’s not terrible and totally undrinkable, but it is in no way what was intended. Half of the flavor is fantastic but is torpedoed by the rest. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a smoky, tart mouthfeel. Both linger, too, so it’s insane on the palate. Damn.
