Pours darkest brown. Light brown finger of head. Light oak and Bourbon, slight chocolate and a massive vanilla note. Meaty smokiness shows when warmer. Vanilla bursts out on the taste, definitely like vanilla beans. Some chocolate and subtle oak and Bourbon notes. Smoke us present and adds a nice element. Medium bodied, clean finish. Good brew. My favorite Brick Mason brew. pumpkin (28) - Apex, North Carolina, USA - FEB 3, 2012
12 oz bottle, pours brownish black color, tan head medium carbonation, smells of smoke chocolate and vanilla, taste of smoke, bourbon, then vanilla shows up at end. As beer warms kinda get a strange barrel taste. Just ok Icecreamman (5) - Long Beach, California, USA - NOV 6, 2011 does not count
Bottle from Stein’s Deli in New Orleans. Pours dark with a nice, lasting tan head. Nothing too blockbuster here but I enjoy the mellow mix of smoke, vanilla and a lil bourbon. Malty, creamy and smooth. I would drink this pretty regularly if the price and availability were right. brewkkake (3) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - OCT 21, 2011 does not count
Lots of different flavors and aromas give it a very interesting complexity that’s remarkably well-balanced, with the smokiness and vanilla playing off each other nicely. Coffee spiked with whiskey, vanilla, toffee and even notes of chocolate-covered cherries.
