Poured a rich red with a very sticky head and tons of malt in the nose and mouth.

Hazy chocolate colored pour. Big light tan head. Plenty of lacing. A slightly sour aroma of spice and malt. Taste is a peppery note with a sweet juniper berry note. Sweet finish. Good.

Dark reddish brown with tan head. Aroma is sweet and nutty. Taste is sweet malt. Has a carbonated and sticky mouth feel. Enjoyed it. glennmastrange (2899) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - JUL 16, 2013
Bottle. Moderate roasted and milk chocolate for the malt, light to moderate cooked orange for the hops, light dough and broth for the yeast, with notes of raisin, date, wood, toffee, brown sugar and a hint of nutmeg. Head is small, fizzy, light beige with a few spots of slippery lacing and is fully diminishing. Color is muddy red/brown. Flavor starts lightly sweet and lightly to moderately acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium to full, between oily and creamy and has a lively carbonation. This American Strong Ale has some perfectly spaced spice and dried fruit aspects to it giving it a nice Belgian flair. aracauna (3651) - Georgia, USA - JUL 5, 2013
Very dark amber. A little cloudy. Huge head. Sound on opening sounds a little over carbonated. Took forever for the head to settle to a reasonable level. Very fragrant. Nutty. Light spicing. Buttery not in a defect way, but in a pastry way. Slight alcohol heat in finish.

Reddish brown pour, off white head. Caramel, toffee, oak, light tannins, this is a very nice brew. AirForceHops (7679) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 15, 2013
12 oz. bottle. Deep mahogany color with thin off white head. Nose is mostly oak with traces of molasses. Flavor is oak, brown sugar and light anise. The oak is really nice in this brew. Light Christmas spice in the finish. Medium body with the right level of carbonation. Nicely made. AdamChandler (5150) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JUN 15, 2013
Dark amber nice lacing. Smells of toffee and tobacco. Brown sugar. Taste is sweet and oily. Very weird burnt oak. Mild hop presence very esthery. Weak sweet finish. Not a fan. GTAEgeek (2334) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - JUN 6, 2013
12 oz. bottle. Dark, muddy brown with a medium, creamy, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate pudding, cinnamon, lactose, and toffee. Very sweet flavor, with no discernible hop profile. Medium body, chalky, and clean. Overall, this is a very dry and spicy ale. Not bad! ads135 (4923) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Sadly not that good. A bit more sour than I would’ve thought, I assume an effect of the oak aging. Josh brought this one back with him from Mississippi in 2013.
