Deep brown in appearance with a very thick head. Not that aromatic which was surprising given the label information. Great taste, that hits mid-tongue and leaves little to no aftertaste. Malty richness with hint of spice. Above average beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Deep dark brown coloured body with a very thin, and ultra-fast-dying tan head. Aroma of maple syrup, molasses, grain, alcohol, bourbon, oak, vanilla and a big dose of pure caramel and toffee - nice and incredibly sweet. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich grainy and bitter flavour of tobacco, vanilla, bourbon, grain, alcohol and super pungent bitterness with a lot of grain and fuller-flavoured notes showing a lot of bitterness and grain throughout. Aftertaste shows some more assertive vanilla, oak, bourbon, caramel and toffee notes with an extra bit near the end with the alcohol and malts showing through. Overall, a nice and robust beer that shows more of an old ale and a light belgian style (dubble, perhaps) with a big dose of alcohol, pungent grain, oak, bourbon and overall assertiveness with a good kick and moderate complexity throughout and easy-to-drink finish, make this beer worth finding, especially if you are in the South at all and can regularly find this! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 28-December-2017 for US$3,99 sampled in my hotel room here in Disney World [Dolphin] on 31-December-2017 to celebrate the New Year with my wife and three kids.

Sem espuma abundante, mas bem gaseificada na boca. Maltes evidentes e algo de coco. Otimo conjunto.

MacBoost (1959) - Victor, New York, USA - MAR 11, 2014
Bottle from homer321, obviously a shelf turd. Pours a deep red color with a small off white head. Aromas of boozy vanilla, oak. Taste is sweet with minimal hop presence for the style. Flavors of wood, marshmallow, bourbon, caramel. Mid sip reveals chewy oak and burnt sugar. Finishes with a wallop of what the fuck is going on here. Not good by any means. Overly boozy, under attenuated, oak aging doesn’t fit and not enough hop bite. Scroll past this dumpster juice.

12 oz. bottle shared by dudeabide- thanks again, Nate! Pours a clear caramel color with a small off-white head. Aroma of earth, leaves, oak, and florals. The flavor follows the same lines, but boozier. Not much spice. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a boozy mouthfeel. Not sure what the aim was here, but it’s not impressive.

b3shine (9260) - Indiana, USA - JAN 22, 2014
Bottle to taster (shared by dudeabide). Looks good for the style; a translucent amberish brown with foamy off-white head that has a slight yellow tint to it. Smells semi-sweet, malty, and oaky. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. Solid, but forgettable.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. The beer pours a muddy brown with half finger head that disappears quickly. Aroma is that of an old ale: leathery, caramel, yeasty. Flavor is much more than I was expecting; very much an old ale but with additional flavors lingering on the tongue mostly from the barrel aging. Very nice sipper.

freekyp (2466) - Thomasville, North Carolina, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Vanilla spicy notes permeate the aroma and flavor with a hint of raisins and some hop bite near the end. Not shy, the alcohol warms throughout. Tastes like an oatmeal cookie dipped in bourbon. Really smooth and drinkable for such a heavy beer.

kermis (14958) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - OCT 12, 2013
Pours hazy light brown with a medium tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, malt, raisins and over ripe fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.
