4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle - pour clear copper with clingy white head. Funky wet dog, caramel malt, apple aroma and slight metallic twang. Taste explodes in the mouth sweetness and dry right across the palate. Mouthfeel is really lively. Really liked this one.
Coarse carbonation, quite low. Off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is pleasant, malty with a hint of raisins. Flavour is sweet with raisin, Christmas pudding background. Mouthfeel is a bit too slick for me. ShaneJ (896) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 24, 2013
Bottle from Slowbeer. Dark amber, massive frothy head leaving lots of lacing, burnt toffee, unripe banana, cloves, yeast funk, sweet caramel, earthy/dusty. Quite good. hawthorne00 (3955) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2013
Bottle, 12C. Amber with a loose beige head that never quite disappears. Aroma of caramel, toast, banana, apples, spices, hints of funk. Sweet with caramel, sherry and fruit, dries out a lot at the spicy but not very bitter finish. Just a vaguely rustic amber really, but there’s some intriguing complexity that comes through because of the nice balance. gam (3930) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - NOV 1, 2013

Pours dark amber with a quickly fading head.
Nose shows caramelised banana and toffee, little else.
Pretty similar flavours really, more banana and toffee with a little cardboard-like malt.
Carbonation could be a little higher. Ryanmalkmus (17) - Fitzroy, AUSTRALIA - OCT 23, 2013
Amazing amber bier de garde. Malty and a little funky. Barnyard and woody, but dry flavours balanced with plenty of sweet malt and the 7.4% abv. Complex yet refreshing.
