330ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep ruby, with a small off-white head, which lasts reasonably well without leaving much lacing. The aroma is soft and fruity, with some plum, candied fruit and floral hops notes. Mild floral hops and a touch of allspice up front lead into fruitcake and plum characteristics in the mid-palate. There is a little sweet spice in the finish. This is not the most exciting beer around, but it is a nice enough sweeter session ale. gam (4000) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JAN 9, 2011

Bottle. Dark brownish red pour with a smalltan head that quickly disappears. Sweet, slightly vinous aroma has notes of berries, cola, spice, brown sugar and molasses. Flavour is very similar: still sweet but with some balancing bitterness, malty, fruity and spicy. Mouthfeel is a touch thin and watery with low carbonation and a lingering bittersweet finish. This is drinkable, if somewhat unbalanced, and as far as Irish Ales go it isn’t too bad, however it’s not something I could see myself going back to often. bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 12, 2011
Bottle. Pours a very deep mahogany with a very frothy light tan coloured head. Disappears pretty quickly to nothing. Decent malt aromas supported by dark fruits and some dark toffee. Unfortunately though I also get plenty of slightly off yeast aromas coming through. Flavours are a little bland. There is definately some malt sweetness but not much else. Mouthfeel is on the thin side. Didn’t really enjoy this. Lunkie (1950) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - JUN 3, 2008

Pours red with very low carbonation and a thin caramel head. Aroma is mainly vegemite with a slight hint of fruit. Upfront flavour is spice, plum pudding, brown sugar which evolves in to a strong long bitter finish.
Apart from the nose, the brewer description is spot on. Gets more complex with every mouthful, lots of stuff going on, almost impossible to nail all of them down though. Will probably improve after a few months. madquacker (1162) - Canberra ACT, AUSTRALIA - MAR 3, 2008
Dark red with no head. A bit cordially for me and overly sweet. Not my pick of styles.
