Bottle. Bright clear copper, no head. Very low bead. Aroma of honey, vanilla, cognac, raisins, bush spices.Only slightly syrupy. Sweet and sour, with as much toffee and dried fruit as honey, some apple vinegar, drying oak. The alcohol begins to stick out a bit much after a 100mls or so. Powerful yet sophisticated - but just a little hot for me. KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 11, 2011
Bottle at Papsø.
Loads of complex aroma. Beer, honey, strong alcohol overtones. The beer plays with the mead. Sweet and sour, dry finish with the honey lingering for a long time. joergen (28102) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 9, 2011

Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of alcohol, over ripe fruits, and some honey. The flavor is sweet over ripe fruit, alcohol, flower, and honey, leading to a dry finish. The alcohol burns both the palate and tongue. Thanks Papsoe for sharing. Hazy amber color; low carbonation and almost no head. Nice aroma: sweet malt, vanilla oak, some honey (it reminds me the Manuka honey). The mouthfeel is lean, the body strength is average; caramel flavor, but there is a light sour touch that is out of place here, even more in a liquor with a high alcohol presence (too much alcohol indeed). Not bad, but controversial.
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of bluebetty. Bottle # 160 (?) Pours deep golden with a slight haze and a small off-white head. Amazing and pleasant oak aroma with a hint of honey. Solid body, sweet overripe fruit, caramel and oak with a distinct underlying tartness. Amazing. 080411 omhper (25095) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - MAR 31, 2011
