Brown and murky, like muddy chocolate floating around, aroma of roasted malts, heavy on the chocolate, earthy hops of herbs and grass, flavour was chocolate with a bite of chili which was more of a sensation rather than flavour, very good. Rosslew (320) - AUSTRALIA - NOV 20, 2014
Dark malts and chocolate jump from the glass. Continues on tongue before strike of alcohol and chilli hit. But the milky wave on palate appeases before a bitter finish. 7.8%. 500ml. 3.1std drinks

Pours a very dark brown with almost no head. Nose is raisins, a little cocoa, and something that’s agitating my nostrils, but not discernibly chilli-like. Flavor is a little lacklustre. There’s more of that raisin, a little orange peel, some dark chocolate and a hint of chilli on the finish. Not really what I was expecting flavor wise given the name, though it matches the nose. Body is fairly heavy, and the mouthfeel is really silky, viscous and smooth. Interesting as usual, but not really that great. Dredd (979) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - OCT 22, 2013
What isn’t there to like. Jet black pour, deep roasted chocolate and coffee on the nose. Mouthfeel is oily with some vegetable flavours and a vegemite finish. Some slight sourness and chocolate on the aftertaste. Complex and not cloying. delicious! vanvenlo (1927) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - SEP 8, 2013

Poors jet black with a tan head, plenty of sediments and floaties in there too just suspended. Get that it may be a unfiltered, organic beer but just looks awfull. Not much aroma slight roasted malts. Big flavour of molasses. Don’t get much in the way of any hot chocolate or any chilli. Pretty disappointing beer. bluebetty (1021) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 13, 2013
Bottle. Pours jet black with smallish tan coloured head. Falls away super quickly. Aromas are slightly subdued against what i expected but do show some roasted grain, dark chocolate and a little dark fruits. A little minerally with slight carbonic bite. A touch of warm alcohol to wrap the whole thing up. Taste shows plenty of sweetness with only a little roasted grain bitterness to balance. Initially this seemed greatly over carbonated but as it warmed this fell away and it become a heap more nicer to drink. Medium mouthfeel. Not too bad. ShaneJ (903) - AUSTRALIA - JAN 3, 2013
Bottle from Slowbeer. Dark brown/black with thin quickly disappearing head. Aroma of sweet hot chocolate and roasted grains. Smooth, velvety, easy drinking with nice residual grainy/roasty bitterness. Quite nice, if a bit dry on the finish. gam (4142) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - DEC 2, 2012
