On tap at Red Eye. Poured deep brown with a sticky beige head. The aroma picked up burnt chocolate and coffee with fresh earthy accents.. not too complex, but quite nice. The flavor found more burnt coffee than chocolate, joined by a faint hit of lightly-smoked black malt.. coffee roast bitterness around.. finished dry and roasty. Medium-bodied and very roasty overall on the palate.. enough carbonation to keep it moving.. good, lingering feel on the finish. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - AUG 22, 2010
On nitro during GTMW 2010 Festival in Madison, Wisconsin. Pours an opaque dark brown colored brew with a a nitro infused creamy beige head just stays throughout the glass. Aroma of chocolate malt, a hint of dry rye, floral hops and some light vanilla. Taste is silky smooth, nitrogen infused no doubt, with a nice chocolate and rye malt flavor that is not too over powering. Finish is very smooth with a light dry chocolate aftertaste that quickly disappears. Brewmaster Kevin E. continues to amaze me with this quality craft beers.
