Poured clear medium brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma picked up soft nutty and chocolate malts with light leafy accents.. nice, but muted from the nitro pour. The flavor found brown and nutty malts on the toasted, sweet core.. light herbal bitterness and some malt-inspired sourness around.. finished with a kiss of herbal bitterness over more nutty and chocolate malts.. tasty. Lighter-bodied and buttery-smooth through the palate.. very good feel to it. scoobysnak (333) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 14, 2010
Very non descript but pleasant. Good caramel notes and light and sweet on the palate. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JUL 26, 2009
Tap at the brewery. Dark amber color with a light tan head. Nutty, malty and a little toasty. The flavor was real smooth with a nice malty backbone, very drinkable and pretty good. Skyview (6093) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - JUL 3, 2009
On draught at the Red Eye Brewpub in Wausau, Wisconsin. Pours a clear copper amber colored brew with a thick beige head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring and spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted caramel malt, some roasted nuts, toffee, a hint of chocolate and earth herbs. Taste is smooth, creamy, medium bodied with flavors of roasted caramel malt, a hint of milk chocolate, and roasted nuts. Finish is semi-dry with a short mild bitterness that turns intos dry roasted malt aftertaste.
