COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bent Nail I.P.A. is a tribute to the hard-working contractors who make their living in Red Lodge. The I.P.A is high in alcohol and hop flavor. We use copious amounts of American cascade hops to give the IPA intense grapefruit and citrus aroma and flavor. Bronze medal winner 2007 Great American Beer Festival.

Bottle-sampled at Canyon lodge in Yellowstone NP September 2012-pours clear bright orange with a very small whispy white head. nose is somewhat piney, lite medicinal character and some faint fruits(not in a good way-green apples, grapes or something wierd). flavors are pretty mild for the style-some notes of pine and citrus with some off putting medicnal character. not very much character here-not enough hop punch to make this very bitter-has a very metallic finish. Of the beers available here, this seemed to be the best on the menu. I will try something else now....

On draft at Chico Saloon. Probably not for all the huge hop heads but my kind of IPA. Beautiful pour in the glass. Plenty of citrus and slight pine hop notes. Not overpowering on the palate with great balance. That makes it my kind of IPA.

Clear bronze with foamy offwhite head. Light piney and pineapple aroma. Some pine and grapefruit hop bite, but pretty light. This is a pretty easy drinking IPA, but lacking the "intense" aroma and flavor they are selling.

Draft. Dark bronze pour, nearly brown. Nice sustained head. This is an easy drink ... Not much to distinguish it, a very even keeled beer with just enough of everything. Id call this an APA rather than an IPA but who am I to say? (#4642, 7/3/2012)

One of my favorite beers from this beautiful state. Hoppy like a dry field in August with enough alcohol to make sipping something of an imperative. Ive hiked my share into the Beartooths where they cool in snow banks and Spring runoffs. The flavor is deep, rewarding, and the beer smells of hard work. Im IN.

poured a nice copper color, with a white head. Aroma is great, you can really smell the grapefruit of the cascade hops. Kind of a thin mouthfeel, and decent hoppy flavor.. Good beer all in all.

Bottle thanks to John. Pours amber gold with off white head. Nose is pleasant caramel malt, hops and pineapple. Taste is mostly barley and cereal grain with caramel. Little hops. Light to medium body.
