3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle: Golden orange, large sandy head. Nose is citrus, wheat, and yeast, lightly spiced. Tastse of citrus, heavier in the wheat, and more spices. Some yeast present and a little dandelion. Not bad at all.
i’ve been really happy to discover this brewery since i moved here. everything in their line up is solid. and they do lagers well! Bottle. pours a hazed bright orange yellow. thin white head that lasts. aroma has notes of doughy wheat and citrus. light hints of the spice to come in the flavor. flavor is yeasty, thick, and lasting. spice lingers. sweeter more than tart citrus notes. bit of bubble gum, banana, clove, lemon all in a great little sipper. I love that 7.2 percent is a summer refresher. i’ve moved to the right place. i may be among my people. mbgrayson (787) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - AUG 21, 2016
22 ounce bottle, 7.2% Doppelweiss (not Doppelbock). Pours a hazy straw color, with long lasting white head. Aroma of wheat and fruit. Taste is of a wheat beer with a kick. Sweet up front, then a bid acidic on the palate. Interesting brew. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - SEP 2, 2015
Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a super hazy golden amber color with a small billowy white head. The head fades slowly over time to leave good deal of spider web lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is rather strong of a yeasty and spicy smell with a whole lot of coriander and clove with a hint of a white pepper mixed within. There is a big showing of a banana smell which is accompanied by some other notes of a musty wheat bread smell as well as a decent showing of some grass and hay.
Taste – The taste begins with a rather thick wheat bread taste mixed with a whole lot of yeast and some sweeter banana and lighter caramel tastes. The yeast is strong right from the start with it getting even stronger as the taste moves on further toward the end. The spice is decent up front, but intensifies as the taste moves on, with more and more coriander, clove and pepper coming to the tongue. With some hay flavors as well as some tastes of an herbal nature coming to the tongue more toward the end, one is left with a sweet banana and rather heavy yeasty and hefe taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is very thick and chewy with a carbonation level that is on the slightly lower side. The thick and chewy feel is great for the big yeasty, wheaty, and sweet tastes creating an almost sweet bread dessert like feel to the brew. Overall, I would say the feel is rather well done for the tastes of the brew.
Overall- A decent doppleweisse with a huge yeasty, banana, and odd musty wheat bread flavor. The flavors are rather interesting overall, and with the lighter hop and spice, one I rather like. I could see however, how may not care for the mix of flavors. Any which way I think it is worth at least one try to see if it is a brew you may enjoy.

From 22oz bottle to tulip glass. Pours a vibrant yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is wheat, rice, slight hop. Kind of has the smell of a big hef. Taste is sweet, light body for the heavy abv, but till oddly complex. Finish is great, very smooth with the perfect carbonation. Red Lodge has some nice beers, did a good job here. chibuck (3513) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - OCT 28, 2011
bottle... golden brown, bright off white head, watery... this is pretty sweet, honey, wheat, clove and yeast, ok for the aroma, but the taste is just too sweet, not bad, just too much
