Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread/grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with a note of honey. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation. Simple but very authentic German aroma. A bit limp, soggy, and overly sweet in the mouth but still drinkable. Not close to the level of the Froehlich and Franconian, but pretty good.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2016 From bottle it’s darkened gold with a pillowy head. Aroma impression is malty in the way of honey, toasted cereal, stroopwafel; hoppy in the way of dried herb and apricot... licorice / fennel... touches of fall leaves and mineral water, cleanly fermented and brightly aromatic. In the mouth it’s medium bodied, sweet and malty approach turning more savory and then lightly bitter in a clean finish, leaving a oily coating of caramelized malt and mineral touches. Another winner from Red Rock, they seem to have their German styles dialed in, the bottled full-strength versions, at least. Almost a 8 for aroma except there is a touch of warm alcohol in the nose (at close to room temp).

UPDATED: NOV 21, 2016 500ml bottle thanks sledutah. Pours a light clear amber/gold. Aroma is caramel, baked bread, hint of booze, and dried fruit. Flavor is sweetish, malty, hint of herbs, mostly a sweeter herbal type oktoberfest. Decent.

October beers are my favorite so it’s easy to like this one. Pours a nice hazy golden, good lacing full head and nice aroma would recommend.
