Bottle thanks to Secret Santa! Pours black wit ha gray head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has lots of dark grains and roasted malts with a bit of bitter chocolate and a hint of licorice. Flavor has a bit more sweet dark grain but still full of roasted malts with some bitter chocolate and a touch of licorice.

500 ml bottle shared with the group via my Santa from notes. Pours dark brown to black in color with a small beige head. The aroma and flavor have dark roasted malt, dark chocolate, some coffee, earthy hops, ashy, dry, hides the abv nicely, solid enough.

marcus (10971) - Sacramento, California, USA - DEC 1, 2014
Bottle shared by my friend Bruce. Pours dark brown with a modest tan head and a treacle aroma. There is a hearty dark molasses flavor with lots of carbonation and a dry finish. Slight dark fruit notes.

Taste from a 500ml bottle, big thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing. Black color, with a thin ring of khaki head. Dots and bits of lace. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of chewy, lighter carbonation, lightly slick. Good dark chocolate, toasty aromas, biscuit, moderate roast, hint of coffee, hint of oxidization. Touch of smoke. Moderate-plus bitter taste, moderate sweet. Nice, enjoyable imperial stout. Hides the alcohol well.

500 ml bottle from the brewery. Pours a totally black color with a medium beige head. A sweet chocolate nose, milky. A rich flavor of roast, sweet chocolate, ash, sweet fruity hops. Dry as heck. Interesting. Light dark fruit and cocoa in the finish. Quite good. No heat at all.

Mostly tangy but some roast. Not wonderful. Black pour with some head and lacing. Bittersweet. Bottle shared at tasting.

From bottle it’s deep brown with a short head. Malt-driven aroma is chocolate fudge, salt and pepper phenols, a warming note of buttery alcohol, and a more interesting roast quality that seems backgrounded. In the mouth it’s medium-full bodied, rich and sweet, suitably balanced by modest bitterness with a lingering chocolate brownie roasted malt finish. Solid and straightforward.

2/19/15. Bottle sampled during RBWG 2015. Dark brown pour with a nice tan head. Dark chocolate and coffee on the aroma, biscuit, caramel, a bit of ash. Okay flavor, dusty chocolate, biscuit, caramel, a bit of ash and char, some nuttiness. Not bad.

500 ml bottle thanks to Sledutah. Nice roasty nose. Dark pour. Creamy. Chocolate in chocolate ice cream richness. Medium body. Does not taste 10 percent. Nice.
