Medium body, low bitterness, amber in color, flavored with orange peel, coriander, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. Slightly sweet, but far from heavy, Holiday Ale makes a fine companion to your favorite holiday dessert!

Pours amber with a quickly dissipating white head. Nose is phenolic: bubblegum, banana, spices (clove and maybe nutmeg), alcohol upon warming. Taste of spice cake, bready malt, slight banana, hint of vanilla. Slight residual bitterness that seems out of balance. Kind of cloyingly sweet with a disappointing finish.

The spice’s stand out, its a bit early for this wait until thanksgiving of Christmas. It pours a nice clear dark golden good 1 finger head. Plenty of flavor not bitter.

Golden amber with white head. Cinnamon spiced aroma. A nice holiday ale, a bit heavy on the spices but quite delicious. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light clear color. Very spicy character (mostly nutmeg); with sweet, bready malt.

Griswald’s Holiday Ale 11/07/2013 has a very subtle spice expression initially with a touch of twang that I expect from lagers. Give it a few minutes and the spices take over in a rather pleasant way without being obnoxious. Though coriander is present, the spice expression does not resemble that of hefeweizen but rather the warm, clove inflected character of mulled wine. The results are pleasant without being ham handed. The twang is somewhat integrated with this expression but those who have a pronounced aversion to this character should take note.

Had on draft at the brewery. The aroma is dominated by spice, cinnamon, coriander, nutmeg, ginger. The aroma reminded me of Thanksgiving dinner. The flavor its dominated by the same spices, but there is a bready malt character as well. Not bad, more spices then I would like.

cloudy orange/light copper pour - aroma of spices (coriander, cloves, cinnamon and ginger) and orange - flavors of the same with a nice sweet malty finish

Cybercat (6341) - Georgia, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Malty aroma has a strong spicy overtone, cloves and coriander with hints of cinnamon and orange. Pours a clear amber with a nice, if not too persistent, fluffy off-white head. Spice dominates the malty flavor, cloves, coriander, cinnamon, a hint of ginger, a touch of orange. Texture has about average firmness and fizz. Nothing outstanding, but heck, Happy Holidays, and whatever you celebrate, may it be merry and joyful!

Taster – Red Rocks Brewing Co. – Salt Lake City, UT – Nice malt aroma and flavor this had some good spices and hops flavors. Fruity in both the nose and flavor also. Good light Holiday ale. You can find orange peel and coriander in the flavor.
